A Collection of Thoughts & Things

Halston entertaining at home.

Halston entertaining at home.

1.    If you ever miss drinking inside your local watering hole, look no further. I Miss My Bar attempts to recreate the ambience (drinks being shaken, customers chatting, et al) without ever leaving home.

2.    The longing for the discomfort that comes with dressing up. I too miss the glamour and ache of of stilettos!

3.    A must-visit KAWS exhibition if you’re in New York. I’ve been following his work for years and never pulled the trigger on one of his Companion figures, but started regretting that decision after seeing this (and reading this). And on that note, time and again, I love the chances the Brooklyn Museum takes with the artists or themes they choose to exhibit. It always feels much more modern and culturally relevant than what other grand institutions around the city tend to display.

4.    This new side project from Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars. I’m a huge fan of the former, and after a long, heavy week, this song was the pick-me-up I needed. Also see here for their Grammy performance, which fondly reminded me of the Soul Train performances I’d watch with my dad on Saturday mornings as a kid. I can’t wait to hear the rest of the album when it drops.
